The Mayor of Woodrow Avenue

I was visiting a friend when a fire truck and ambulance suddenly screamed up the street and stopped at a nearby house. As we peered out through the windows, she said, “I need to find out what’s going on” and proceeded to walk barefoot through the yard into the moonlight wearing her robe and carrying a glass of wine. Her cat followed close behind seemingly just as curious.

At that moment, I had an artistic vision and felt compelled to create the following painting. We’ve always joked about her cat being the “mayor” of Woodrow Avenue because he likes to prowl the area, protect his territory, and make rounds socializing with all the neighbors. So maybe… this is actually a portrait of him. RjZ
